Commonwealth

The Commonwealth of Nations is a voluntary association of 56 countries, most formerly part of the British Empire. Gabon and Togo joined in 2022, and the association covers about one-third of the world's population.

Common characteristics among members include English as official language, common law legal systems, parliamentary government, left-hand traffic, and cricket popularity. However, not all apply universally - Mozambique (Portuguese-speaking) and Rwanda (French-speaking) are members despite not being former British territories.

Knowing that a country is a Commonwealth member limits it to 56 countries. 'Commonwealth + Asia' narrows to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei (8 countries).
