Physical Geography
A landlocked country is one that is entirely enclosed by land, with no access to the ocean. There are approximately 44 landlocked countries in the world, concentrated in Africa (16) and Europe (14).
Only two countries are doubly landlocked (surrounded entirely by other landlocked countries): Liechtenstein (surrounded by Switzerland and Austria) and Uzbekistan (surrounded by five landlocked countries).
