Diaspora

Diaspora refers to ethnic populations dispersed from their homeland across the world, or the phenomenon itself. Originally describing Jews scattered after the Babylonian exile, the term now applies more broadly.

Major diasporas: Jewish (dispersed worldwide before Israel founding), Chinese/overseas Chinese (about 50 million, concentrated in Southeast Asia), Indian (about 32 million in UK, USA, Middle East, East Africa), Armenian (about 7 million worldwide, over twice Armenias domestic population), Irish (about 35 million in USA, 7x Irelands population).

In GeoHint, worlds largest diaspora suggests China (overseas Chinese) or India. Diaspora far exceeding domestic population suggests Ireland or Armenia.
